Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are faced with an affordability crisis that leaves many people struggling to get by. While the rich get richer, workers are being priced out of even the most basic necessities.
Working people should be able to thrive, not just survive. It’s time for our government to step up and offer a plan to tackle inflation, ban price gouging and tax excess profits. Workers are demanding action to:
- Raise the minimum wage to a living wage;
- Eliminate the regressive sugar tax and end food deserts in our communities;
- Introduce rent control, house those without shelter and renovate and build more affordable public housing; and
- Tax banks and corporations so that they pay their fair share.
Send a message to the government that you’re demanding better!
